The expertise of attorney Donika Pentcheva extends far beyond the typical judge/jury scenario. Her background, knowledge and practical experiences has resulted in her serving as general counsel to start-up companies in the healthcare field as well as advising entrepreneurial firms and Fortune 500 corporations in the United States, European and Asian markets. She has extensive background and knowledge of patent law and the complex protection of intellectual property and is frequently called on to advise business units on recent and prospective changes in laws and regulations. She has directed the preparation and prosecution of complex patent applications in a wide variety of electrical and mechanical arts, including aerospace, professional electronics, utilities and power systems, and medical devices. She has negotiated and drafted patent licenses, conducted invention disclosure interviews to identify patentable ideas, and coordinated invention review committees to prioritize filings of patent applications.
